Rehab and Disabilities Special Interest Section (RDSIS) Mentorship Program

The RDSIS Steering Committee is excited to present its 2026 Mentorship Program!

Beginning in January 2026 and running until June 2026, this program pairs new OT practitioners (within their first 3 years of practice or when transitioning to a new practice setting) with a seasoned OT or OTA mentor. This mentorship program supports learners and practitioners across the following practice settings:

  • Acute care
  • Acute inpatient rehab
  • Subacute rehab
  • Outpatient rehab
  • Home health
  • Specialty practice areas centered on rehab and disability

As a mentee, you will gain support and resources to further develop and to gain confidence in your practice. As a mentor, you will gain the opportunity to impart your knowledge and to guide a new practitioner toward success.

The program finished accepting Mentor and Mentee applications on Monday, 12/29/25 at 11:59 pm CST. Watch out for the next Mentorship Program announcement later this year.

Expectations for Potential MENTEES:

  • Develop personal goals for their development in the program
  • Be a member of AOTA
  • Meet at least monthly with their assigned mentor(s) to work toward their goals (virtual meetings)
  • Provide feedback to the RDSIS Mentorship Program Chairs upon completion of the program
